On the same day Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski was spotted at Trump Tower to meet with President-elect Donald Trump — on the same elevator with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski — one of her chief rivals took to Twitter to toss shade at her and colleague Joe Scarborough.
Responding to Angelo Carusone’s tweet criticizing Scarborough for advising Trump and Mika for taking a meeting, all while highlighting praise for Morning Joe in a book by Trump, Cuomo said the following:
They have always been boosters. Things turned south when trump froze them out but coverage always stilted. They are transition spokesmen now https://t.co/gkW16uMPJ3

This, of course, isn’t a new criticism of the MSNBC morning program or its hosts, by Cuomo or anyone else.
During the GOP primary, Morning Joe came under fire by some for being too soft on Trump, giving him too much airtime and being ‘in the tank’ for him. (Something they continually denied.) Cuomo has been one of the show’s fiercest critics, taking shots at them over the past year-plus.
In August of last year, Cuomo labeled Morning Joe and Fox & Friends as “friends” of Trump, remarking on how Trump tended to choose those shows over New Day. He also called Scarborough a hypocrite in June for slamming CNN as being too accommodating of Trump.
