Mitt Romney delivered a brief statement to the press after his dinner with Donald Trump tonight.
Romney, who is being considered for Secretary of State, ate and spoke with Trump and Reince Priebus in New York tonight.
Afterwards he emerged to talk with reporters about the “enlightening and interesting and engaging” chat they had. Romney praised Trump for his election victory and said, “I’ve been impressed by what I’ve seen in the transition effort.”
He singled out people like Nikki Haley and Jeff Sessions in talking about Trump’s appointments so far.
And between the appointments and his conversations with Trump, Romney concluded that he has “increasing hope that President-elect Trump is the very man who can lead us to that better future.”
