It is all but certain, now, that Alabama is on their way to the college football playoff win or lose on Saturday against Florida. The Crimson Tide have been so far out in front of everybody else that they can even afford a season-ending loss and still make the playoff with ease.
But it’s the SEC Championship game. It’s Florida. Why would the undefeated Crimson Tide want to start losing now?
The answer, of course, is that they do not want to start losing now. Not to a rival like Florida. The Gators have had another solid season under second-year head coach Jim McElwain. A conference title and a spot in a New Year’s Six bowl would give the program some solid momentum as they look to get back into national title contention in the years to come.
Kickoff is at 4:00 p.m. ET. CBS will broadcast the game live. Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson have the call. CBS Sports will also stream the action on its website, as well as its app. The CBS Sports app can be downloaded via the Apple app store, the Google Play store, and the Windows store.
