A controversial call in a soccer match in Argentina over the weekend led to fans storming the pitch and physically attacking the referees.
It all happened during the Sarmiento vs. Sansineta match on Sunday. Argentinian news outlet Ayacucho Al Dia reports that the melee ensued after the refs declined to call a foul against a Sansineta player, which allowed them to score the go-ahead goal.
Several Sarmiento players shoved one of the referees. Then, several minutes later, the fans charged onto the pitch and several wailed away at the refs.
The fracas eventually spilled off the field, and the refs were eventually escorted to safety.
