Moby Claims He Turned Down Offer to Play at Donald Trump’s Inaugural Ball

Moby (Shutterstock)President Elect Donald Trump’s inauguration is just 10 days away, and if what DJ/singer/musician Moby says is true, his team is still looking for popular musicians to play at the event and coming up empty. On Monday, the “Southside” singer posted on Instagram about an alleged invite he got to play at one of next Friday night’s official inaugural balls:

“Hahahahaha, I was just asked by a booking agent if I would consider djing at one of the inaugural balls for #trump,” he wrote. “Hahahahaha, wait, Hahahaha, really? I guess I’d DJ at an inaugural ball if as payment #trump released his tax returns. Also I would probably play public enemy and stockhausen remixes to entertain the republicans. I’m still laughing. Hahahaha. So #trump what do you think, I DJ for you and you release your tax returns?”

Mediaite has reached out to Trump’s communications team about Moby’s claim but has not yet received a response as of this writing.

The lead to the inauguration has been filled with stories about big name musicians turning down offers to perform and conservatives claiming that the artists who do support Trump are too scared of hurting their careers to play at any of the inaugural events. As it stands, no “A-listers” have been announced.
