Former DIRECTV Pitchman Rob Lowe Blasts Company Over Blacked Out NFL Playoff Game

Screen Shot 2017-01-14 at 8.48.04 PM (3)If you own a television and happened to watch it for, like, five minutes at any point in the year 2014, you probably saw at least one of actor Rob Lowe‘s series of ads for DirecTV. On Saturday, the former DirecTV pitchman likely cemented his status as former DirecTV pitchman when he launched a series of angry tweets at the satellite provider — whose dispute with a local carrier led to Lowe being blacked out of a Saturday afternoon NFL playoff game.

According to The Big Lead, Lowe is being impacted by a dispute between DirecTV and News-Press & Gazette Company, which owns the Fox affiliate in Lowe’s area.

In airing his grievances on Twitter, Lowe made reference to his memorable commercials:

DirecTV discontinued its ad campaign starring Lowe in 2015 after the Better Business Bureau deemed that the company couldn’t back up the claims it made in its commercials.
