According to several reports, one of Donald Trump‘s candidates for the White House press secretary position suggested that he should randomly drug test the White House press corps once in office.
The New York Post first reported Friday that “the pee-in-a-cup proposal (yellow journalism indeed) was one of 13 ideas one candidate for White House press secretary wrote in November in a confidential memo to members of the Presidential Transition Team’s Executive Committee.”
“He didn’t get the job,” the Post‘s Richard Johnson wrote, “and I am not naming him because his proposal could harsh the mellow of his fellow journalists.”
That set off a round of speculation of who the journalist in question could be. Buzzfeed reported Sunday that a source told them it was Daily Mail US executive editor David Martosko. In the end, former RNC spokesman Sean Spicer won the job.
