Caitlyn Jenner is the latest celebrity to float the idea of a Senate run.
The Olympic gold medalist turned reality TV star turned transgender activist revealed to radio host John Catsimatidis that she is in the midst of deciding whether or not to launch a campaign.
“I have considered it. I like the political side of it,” she stated.
Jenner, an outspoken Republican who supported President Trump during the election, elaborated what has been going through her mind.
“The political side of it has always been very intriguing to me. Over the next six months or so, I gotta find out where I can do a better job. Can I do a better job from the outside? Kind of working the perimeter of the political scene, being open to talking to anybody? Or are you better from the inside, and we are in the process of determining that…Yeah but I would look for a senatorial run,” she said.
She had previously told CNN’s Don Lemon that she was “seriously” considering a run for office.
Jenner was critical of President Trump for his decision to roll back protections of transgender students in public schools made by President Obama.
This comes as musician Kid Rock announced his intention to run for Senate, which some speculate is just a marketing ploy for his new album.
