So, this happened tonight.
With cable news thrown into a tizzy over President Donald Trump’s “shithole” comments about Haiti, El Salvador and African nations, CNN’s Chris Cuomo decided to push the envelope during his primetime program.
Standing in front a whiteboard, the CNN anchor wanted his audience to know just what Trump inflammatory remarks really meant.
“We just have to be very clear about what’s going on in the White House, because the president is just showing you who he is,” Cuomo said. “This is who he is, OK?”
And with that, Cuomo wrote “shithole” on the board.
“There it is,” he declared. “This is the gift that he decided to give the American people. It’s a bad word, my kids are watching right now, I don’t want to teach my kids and your kids a bad word, our president decided to make that choice.”
Cuomo went on to say that the “mistake” was in hiding from the word because it is “too ugly.” He further pointed out that using the excuse that Trump was voted in so it makes it all OK is mistaken.
“It’s not okay,” Cuomo plainly stated. “It is who he is, it wasn’t a fit of pique. It wasn’t a slip of the tongue, how do we know? He’s given us the same impression of how he feels every chance he has.”
