Saturday Night Live came back from hiatus tonight, and with everything that happened in the last few weeks, they had quite a bit of catching up to do.
The show got right to it with a hilarious cold openlampooning Morning Joe‘s most recent discussions about President Donald Trump. Of course, the headlining topics were Trump’s inflammatory “sh*thole” remarks and the remarkable contents of Michael Wolff‘s new book.
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski had Wolff on (played by Fred Armisen), and they grilled him over the portions of his book which might not be completely accurate. This all went down with plenty of sexual undertones from Joe and Mika.
But the returning SNL alum Armisen was promptly upstaged by another, when Bill Murray showed up to play Steve Bannon. Murray, of course, was suitably disheveled for the role.
“I always thought you looked like death,” Kate McKinnon‘s Mika told Murray’s Bannon. “But this is death warmed over.
Wolff and Bannon confronted each other over Fire and Fury, and how much of the book is true — and how will Bannon pass the time now that he’s out of a job with Breitbart.
“I’m…coming out with a new line of wrinkled barn jackets called Frumpers for Guys,” Murray’s Bannon said.
Next up on Morning Joe‘s guest list was Oprah Winfrey — played by Leslie Jones — and she was immediately asked whether she’ll run for president. Her response: “I’m a celebrity, so I’m qualified.”
