View Debates Whether Jesus Commands Pence: It’s One Thing to Talk to Jesus, Another When He Talks to You

Omarosa Manigault Newman is being just as incendiary and controversial as she’d hoped on Celebrity Big Brother. And her newest comments – centered around Vice President Mike Pence – have a number of the hosts of The View worried about the veep as a possible president.

“As bad as you think Trump is, you would be worried about [Mike] Pence,” Omarosa told a few of her costars. “I am Christian, I love Jesus, but he thinks Jesus tells him to say things there. I’m like, ‘Jesus didn’t say that.’ Scary.”

“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you,” Joy Behar said.

“As a Christian, that’s just par for the course. You talk to Jesus, Jesus talks back,” guest host Sherri Shepard chimed in. “What concerns me is: how long is the conversation with Jesus?”

“Can he talk to Mary Magdalene without his wife in the room?” Behar snarked.

The hosts then wondered if Pence’s Christianity translated into a values-driven administration, which they said it did not, necessarily. Meghan McCain conflated the discussion of “values” with being pro-life, which Sunny Hostin quickly shut down. Still, McCain – a vocal Republican – admitted that she’d rather have Pence as president than Donald Trump.
