President Donald Trump will take part in roundtable discussion on tax cuts and tax reform today during his visit to St. Louis, Missouri. The event is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. EST.
Today’s roundtable will take place after Trump finishes his tour of the local Boeing factory — where he will be flanked by Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Boeing President/CEO Dennis Muilenburg. The conversation is likely to revolve around tax cuts, the new tariffs on imported metals, and how the state businesses have been impacted by the White House’s economic policy.
It is quite possible that Trump will talk about his decision to hire Larry Kudlow to replace Gary Cohn as the White House’s newest economic adviser. Trump was reportedly impressed by Kudlow’s analysis on CNBC, and the economic pundit’s hiring might be part of the president’s plan to reboot his administration and surround himself with advisers who more closely reflect his views.
It is unclear whether Trump will take questions from the media during this event, but if he does, other topics that might come up include Rex Tillerson‘s firing, his border wall inspection, and Conor Lamb‘s victory over Rick Saccone in last night’s special election.
