Legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw tweeted today that the senators questioning Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg over the Cambridge Analytica scandal seemed very out of touch, an observation shared by many others.
Zuckerberg’s appearance demonstrated most Senators think the digital age means you can still count with your fingers

Brokaw is 78, making him just a few years younger than the olders members of the Senate Judiciary Committee: Sens. Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) — all 84 years of age.
Hatch received particular negative attention for a question he asked Zuckerberg about how Facebook makes money.
“How do you sustain a business model in which users don’t pay for your service?” Hatch asked — with all the disgruntled confusion of your grandpa trying to work the DVR. (Though the Utah Senator’s official Twitter account claimed Hatch was being sarcastic.)
“Senator, we run ads,” Zuckerberg told Hatch with a small smile.
