Former FBI director James Comey talked a lot of trash about President Donald Trump in his Sunday night interview, but perhaps his sharpest barb came when he decried the commander-in-chief as “morally unfit.”
“Is Donald Trump unfit to be president?” ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos asked.
“Yes,” Comey replied. “But not in the way I often hear people talk about it. I don’t buy this stuff about him being mentally incompetent or early stages of dementia. He strikes me as a person of above average intelligence who’s tracking conversations and knows what’s going on. I don’t think he’s medically unfit to be president.”
“I think he’s morally unfit to be president,” Comey said.
And Fox & Friends went to lengths to note that Trump isn’t the first president to be morally unfit.
Brian Kilmeade first brought up a new T.V. show airing on CNN about former President John F. Kennedy’s family: “Of course, coming up a little bit later on CNN, The Kennedys, where every other day there was something immoral going on,” Kilmeade said.
“Bill Clinton,” Ainsley Earhardt chimed in. “Hillary Clinton! Lying.”
“FDR,” Kilmeade added, “there are people that were less than perfect that occupied the Oval Office and were effective leaders. Not many people can be as perfect as [Comey].”
Earhardt concluded that Comey didn’t reveal much in his interview, aside from the fact that his wife and daughters attended the Women’s March.
“You could tell he has disdain for this president,” she concluded.
