Alan Dershowitz took Sean Hannity to a very awkward place on Monday night when he admonished the Fox News host for not publicly disclosing his connection with President Trump‘s personal lawyer.
Hannity opened his show by tearing into James Comey‘s ABC interview last night, and he had Dershowitz on to talk about the criticisms he offered for the former FBI director earlier today. However, the professor took things in a different direction and threw Hannity somewhat off-balance.
“First of all, Sean, I want to say that I really think that you should have disclosed your relationship with Cohen when you talked about him on this show. You could have said that you had asked him for advice or whatever, but I think it would have been much, much better had you disclosed that relationship.”
Hannity pushed back by saying his business was Cohen was “minimal” and he’d talk about it later, though Dershowitz continued to press on and say he “should’ve” said something. Dershowitz agreed with Hannity that he had the right to not have his identity revealed as Cohen’s mystery client, though its “a complex situation when you are speaking to millions of people.”
