In a no-holds-barred interview with MSNBC’s Ari Melber Thursday, comedian Sinbad trashed President Donald Trump‘s history of Twitter trolling, suggesting he suffers mental illness.
Sinbad, who feels Trump was once very different as a casino mogul during the 1990s, noted that there has been a marked shift in his public behavior, as evidenced by his spats with celebrities from NFL athletes to Robert De Niro.
“Now there is post-dementia Donald Trump who just loves picking fights,” Sinbad said. “I think he is a lonely man. I think this man never really had a lot of friends, he wants to be popular, he wants to be a celebrity, and he loves being able to Twitter slam people because he can’t meet them face to face.”
The comedian continued, implying Trump is merely a “keyboard gangster” who “wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
“That’s why they live behind the keyboard,” he added.
Sinbad argued that an ideal end-game for Trump could have been him failing to secure the presidency, getting another TV show instead and claiming he “could’ve won” had he not been such an avant-garde style politician.
The formula to his win, Sindbad contended, was the right mix of unhinged behavior.
“You gotta be rich, I mean filthy rich where you don’t need the job, and you can throw anything out there and you really don’t care, and then you gotta have a little bit of a mental deficiency,” he said.
