Jenna Bush Hager Takes Jab at Trump After He Mocks Her Ailing Granddad’s ‘Thousand Points of Lights’

Today correspondent Jenna Bush Hager took a Twitter jab at President Donald Trump on Friday after he mocked her grandfather’s ‘Thousand Points of Light’ slogan during a rally in Montana.

Speaking to rally crowds on Thursday, Trump said this: “And by the way, you know all of the rhetoric: ‘Thousands points of light.’ What the hell was that?”

The rally remarks prompted George W. Bush’s former press secretary Ari Fleisher to note,  “This is so uncalled for. Going after a 94-year-old, former President’s promotion of volunteerism. I don’t mind POTUS being a fighter. I do mind him being rude.”

CNN’s Brooke Baldwin also weighed in, calling out Trump for his attacks on both Sen. John McCain and Bush 41, with her guest,  Max Boot, noting that what made the comments even more  “disgusting” was the fact Bush and McCain are in poor health.

The former First Daughter, however, did not even mention Trump by name in her response, instead allowing her grandfather’s words to speak for themselves.

“From a letter my grandfather wrote in 1997: a point of light was a vision about serving others, one that lit up our country, one I hope our country hasn’t lost,” she wrote, along with her grandfather’s explanation.
