Conservative writer Charlie Hurt was today’s #OneLuckyGuy on Outnumbered — and he prompted a good deal of conversation when he took Rep Louie Gohmert‘s (R-TX) side while reviewing yesterday’s Peter Strzok hearing.
Gohmert nearly derailed the hearing when he took pot shots at Strzok’s infidelity, rather than focus on the the questions of whether the FBI agent’s work was tainted by bias. The Texas Republican took a lot of criticism for his questioning, including some from conservative commentators.
But Hurt, conversely, laughed off the Congressman’s line of questioning, and said he made a “fair point.”
“Imagine if this case gone to trial and all of this came out afterwards. There’s not a jury in America that would not overturn a conviction based on the clear bias that he showed,” Hurt said, moving on. “It was clear the Democrat’s strategy was to play interrupting cow for every question, and they succeeded.”
The conversation continued to gravitate around the more enlightening parts of Strzok’s testimony, along with the disputes Congressional Democrats raised with their Republican colleagues yesterday.
